Back-to-School DIY: 3 Easy Ways to Personalize Your School Supplies

It’s that time of the year again — back to school means your days are filled with packing lunches, helping with homework, and trying your best to keep your little ones organized in the classroom. Last month, I collaborated with Sauder as they introduced their latest (and cutest!) bar cart, the Boulevard Café Library Cart. I worked with them to style and create a bubbly kid-friendly bar cart. I will share this photoshoot with you once I get the green light from Sauder. :) This collaboration got me thinking about my next back-to-school DIY. Read on to learn 3 easy ways to personalize your pencil box!

I wanted to show you how fun it could be to take a plain pencil/supply box and personalize it to your (or your kids) style! I have a ton of craft supplies that need to be organized in containers but I wanted to make them *pop* without spending a ton of money. You know I love Target's clearance racks and $1, $3, and $5 section located at the front of the store.

You can personalize your supply box for less than $5! Whether it's adding your name or initials, covering it with fun patches + stickers, or adding a colorful tassel — there's a ton of fun ways to personalize a pencil box to help keep you or your little ones more organized.

I'd love to see your DIYs and favorite back-to-school hacks! Tag or message me on instagram at @IamCassandraAnn. :)

1. Add Patch Stickers

Patch stickers are a great choice because they're super durable, waterproof, and easy to remove. These would be a great option for those of you who want to update your pencil box frequently or even every season. Because we all know that pineapples, flamingos, and ice cream cones are great for summer, but pumpkins, plaid, and coffee patches are great options for fall.

2. Add Your Name or Initials

You can take your DIY one step further by adding your name or initials to your pencil/supply box. I found these cute felt patch letters in the $1 section at Target. The fun thing is that their actually stickers! So they're easy to remove and replace.

3. Add Colorful Tassels

The tassel trend continues! You can add colorful tassels to your pencil/storage box and give your box an added flare. The great thing about most tassels is that you can swap them out whenever you want!
