10 Fun Date Night Ideas

I absolutely love date nights! Bryan and I can sometimes get into the habit of our dinner and a movie date routine and it's fun for us but I know we really have a blast when we try something new.

I was recently invited by Phoenix Theatre to attend the hilarious play, "Bullets Over Broadway". This play is based on the screenplay of the 1994 Wooden Allen + Douglas McGrath film. I don't want to give too much away but this musical play is HILARIOUS! It's filled with a ton of colorful characters, funny puns and cute 20's styled outfits. There's a snapshot of us at the play below. We had so much fun that we plan on seeing their upcoming show, "The Scottsboro Boys" -- I can't wait to see it! This was Bryan's first play...ever! Crazy right? This fun date-night made me want to create a wishlist of other fun date night ideas. Read on for 10 fun + new date night ideas for couples below.

1. PLAN A STAY-CATION

A great date night (or even weekend date) idea would be to plan a stay-cation at a fun resort or hotel in your town. You'll save money and have a mini-vacation in the process. (via The Saguaro)

2. Star Gazing

When I was in college, I loved star gazing. My first date with my husband was actually star-gazing at a nearby park. My idea...I guess it's a good thing he wasn't crazy because I probably would only recommend this to those of you who have a few dates already under your belt or if you're in a serious relationship. 3. TRY A NEW RESTAURANT

Trying to new restaurants can be super exciting (and delicious!). Forgo a boring chain restaurant and choose an eatery that offers a new cuisine or atmosphere.

4. SEE A PLAY

This is a great option for those of you who usually opt in for dinner + a movie. If you want to enjoy a fun night out while still getting your fill of entertainment, this is a great option! As mentioned above, I was recently invited by the Phoenix Theatre to attend the hilarious play, Bullets Over Broadway. My husband and I had a blast -- here is a snapshot of us below. We were one of the first ones to arrive! (via Phoenix Theatre)

5. BUILD A FORT + STAY HOME

You don't necessarily have to go outside to have a fun date-night with your significant other. What if you stayed indoors and built a cool fort like this and watched movies, played games and sipped on some delicious bubbly? Fun, right?! (via Brit+Co)

6. EXPLORE YOUR CITY

There are parts of Arizona that my husband and I have never explored. We actually decided to have a fun date-night in a city that we've never been before. Honestly, it wasn't the best experience but it did make us appreciate our side of town A LOT more!

7. PLAN A PICNIC DATE

A cute way to show your S.O. that they're extra special is by planning a fun picnic date. You can make this even more meaningful by selecting their fave food + drink options. (via Best Friends for Frosting)

8. JEEP TOUR ADVENTURE

Every city + state has a tour guide option. Here in Arizona we have guided jeep tours in beautiful Sedona, AZ. Check with your local visitor guide to see what options you have in your city. (via Greg Vaughn)

9. OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT

It would be super romantic to have an outdoor movie night with your love by your side. If you're not into mushy moments, you can opt-in for a comedy. Don't forget the popcorn! (via Camille Styles)

10. DESSERT BEFORE DINNER

You're an adult now. That means you're allowed to eat dessert whenever you want! Instead of going on a dinner-date how about you try a new dessert instead? You could even go dessert-hopping around town.
