11 Wardrobe Must-Haves for Mid-Season Style

Fall is not quite in full effect over here (thanks a lot, Arizona) and I’m ok with it. I’m getting used to putting on a coat or sweater every time I leave the house before 10am, and then embracing the fact that I live in Arizona and I have to take it off by 10:30am sharp like nobody's business. So, I'm currently in an awkward stage in my wardrobe where I'm wearing mostly mid-season outfits. I thought I'd share my fall wish list, including some accessories and pieces that I've just ordered, and some that I still hope to buy in the coming weeks.

First let's talk about sweaters… Now that I work from home 24/7, I’m opting for off-the-shoulder, cozy sweaters as opposed to the more itchy, cashmere, professional ones I was drawn to for the office. This off-the-shoulder sweater, hands down, is my favorite so far this season. I have it in dark grey and tan but it comes in white too, so there is something for everyone. It’s a great price too ($25)! I also love this tunic sweater that has loose turtle neck.

Now let's talk about all things plaid. My household plaid decor is already insane (I'm talking about my tablecloths & throw pillows) so my rule this year is to only buy non-holiday colored versions that I know I’ll be able to use all fall and winter long. The same goes with my wardrobe. I started with this classic berry plaid blanket scarf from Express. I'm going to wear this bad boy to a pumpkin patch festival this weekend. I also hit up Old Navy for this red plaid poncho that I’ve wanted for a few weeks now. And that’s it! Unless something insanely good (and on sale) comes along for fall, I’m all plaid-ed out.

I have a lot of outerwear but it was mostly used as business-casual attire for the office. So I've been stocking up on new street-style pieces. Although I have about a million different styled striped shirts, this is by far my most comfortable and favorite style. I'm absolutely gaga over this hooded canvas jacket from J. Crew. There's also a less expensive version at Old Navy. While I love my sandals and slip-ons, I have been looking for a pair of sneakers for any occasion. These Adidas Superstar's are the perfect choice for me. They're comfortable and reasonably priced. I often find that this pair looks quite chic in just about any outfit. My last mid-season wardrobe essential are my various pairs of Distressed Skinny Jeans. I hate to say it but...I'm obsessed. I love the fact that they're versatile (dress-up or down) and they show a little skin.

As far as accessories go, I added this Faux Leather Tote to my list after seeing it on Pinterest earlier this week. I’ve been wearing my Sunglasses and tiny Gold Bangles a lot lately, especially for my everyday looks. I also just this OPI Nail Polish from Ulta and it's a perfect nail-transition color for fall.
